Limited Availability and known limitations
Gnok is a preview, not a production service: it may change, be unavailable, or be reset without notice, and there is no uptime commitment. Data you store may be deleted, including when the preview ends. Don't upload personal, confidential or regulated data (for example health, financial or customer records). AI features send your prompts and the data they reference to our AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI). Questions: support@gnok.io.
The full notice is at gnok.io/limited-availability. Using Gnok during the preview is subject to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
What to expect
- No service-level agreement. Gnok may be slow, unavailable or under maintenance, sometimes without notice. Current health is on the status page.
- Things change. SQL behavior, limits, APIs and Studio may change during the preview. These docs describe the current service.
- Data may be deleted. Keep your own copy of anything you need. See Exporting your data.
- Staging hostnames. Sign-in and some services use addresses such as
login.staging.gnok.io,catalog.staging.gnok.ioandsql.staging.gnok.io. That is expected during the preview; always start from studio.gnok.io. - No sensitive data. Use sample, synthetic or public data. Gnok holds no compliance certifications during the preview.
Getting access
Anyone can request an organization from studio.gnok.io. During the preview:
- Gnok reviews each new organization. After you verify your email, you'll get another email when your organization is approved and you can sign in.
- The number of free organizations is limited. If the preview is full, the sign-up page says so; email support@gnok.io to join the waitlist.
- Sign-ups that aren't verified within 24 hours are removed 7 days later, which frees the organization name and email address.
Free plan limits
Every new organization is on the free plan. Organizations share a default warehouse, so queries are limited per organization to keep it fair.
| Resource | Free plan |
|---|---|
| Catalogs | 3 |
| Schemas | 30 |
| Tables | 100 |
| Warehouses | None of your own; queries run on the shared default warehouse |
| Members | 5 |
| Models | 30 (new versions of an existing model don't count) |
| Streams | 5 |
| Tasks | 2 |
| Dynamic tables | 2 |
| Queries running at a time | 3 |
| Queries per minute | 60 |
| Longest query | 5 minutes |
| Storage | 10 GB |
| Notebooks running at a time | 2 |
| AI tokens | 0 until Gnok grants a monthly budget, up to 1,000,000 a month |
| Embedding tokens | 2,000,000 a month |
When you reach a limit, new work of that kind is refused with a message that names the limit; existing work keeps running. Your organization's usage is in Studio under Operations → Plan & limits.
Raising a limit or getting an AI budget: email support@gnok.io with your organization's name and what you need. On the free plan, only Gnok can set the AI budget; your administrators still choose which AI providers, models and operations are allowed in AI Governance.
Known limitations
- Client connectivity (JDBC, the Postgres wire protocol, Flight SQL from your own tools) isn't self-service yet. Use Gnok Studio, or email support@gnok.io to request access. See Connectivity.
- Dedicated warehouses aren't available on the free plan.
- Paid plans don't exist yet. There is nothing to buy during the preview.
- Deleting your organization is done by Gnok on request; see Deleting your organization.
