What is Gnok?
Gnok is a cloud data platform for SQL, analytics, and AI. Use Gnok Studio to explore data, build models, and automate workflows.
What you can do
- Explore and transform data: query tables, join datasets, load files, and manage Iceberg snapshots using SQL.
- Build models and search: train supported native models, register compatible model artifacts, and use vector and text search.
- Automate SQL workflows: define procedures, use control flow and transactions, and work with streams and tasks where enabled.
- Work in Studio: use SQL worksheets, shared tutorials, Python notebooks, dashboards, and query history.
- Control access: organize users and roles within your organization and apply table privileges, row policies, and masking.
Feature availability depends on your account, permissions, and configured integrations. External AI functions can send inputs to a configured provider. They stay off until an organization administrator sets a token budget and a rollout policy in Studio (Operations → AI Governance).
Open data formats
Gnok works with Apache Iceberg tables and uses protocols such as Arrow Flight SQL and the PostgreSQL wire protocol. These standards support interoperability with compatible tools. The Iceberg compatibility reference describes supported table features and limits.
Your account and workspace
Your organization is the scope for your identity, data access, and settings; SQL views and APIs call it a tenant. Create an organization to get started, or ask your administrator to add you to an existing one. Studio connects to Gnok using your account's permissions. Sharing a worksheet does not automatically grant access to the tables it queries.
Your organization manages its users, data, workload choices, and authorized integrations. See service responsibilities for what your team and Gnok each manage.
