Account Access
Gnok Studio is at studio.gnok.io. You sign in with your organization, your email, and your password, plus a second factor when your account has one.
Create an organization
Anyone can create a new organization:
-
Open studio.gnok.io/login and choose New to gnok? Create an organization.
-
Fill in the form:
Field What to enter Organization name Your company or team name. It becomes the organization's sign-in name: lowercase, with each run of other characters replaced by _. The result must be at least 3 characters and start with a letter. For example,Acme Corpbecomesacme_corp. The form shows the sign-in name as you type.Email Your work email. You sign in with it, and the verification email goes there. Full name Your name as other members see it. Username The name Gnok uses for you inside the organization, for example in SQL grants and query history. You sign in with your email, not your username. Password At least 10 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a digit. Enter it again to confirm. -
Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then submit.
The person who signs up becomes the organization's administrator and has access to Gnok Studio. To add colleagues, see Join an existing organization.
Verify your email
After you submit, the confirmation page shows your sign-in details (organization and email) and sends a verification email. The link in the email is valid for 24 hours.
- Same browser: if you open the link in the browser you signed up in, your email is verified immediately.
- Another browser or device: you see a confirmation page. Choose Verify email and continue.
If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam or junk folder, then choose Resend verification email on the confirmation page. Use the newest link. If a link has expired, request a new one instead of signing up again.
Sign-in is a single page:
-
Go to studio.gnok.io/login.
-
Enter your Organization (the sign-in name, such as
acme_corp), your Email, and your Password. -
If your account has a second factor, either:
- type a code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes, in Authenticator or recovery code, then choose Sign in; or
- choose Use passkey and confirm with your device.
If your account has no second factor, leave the code field empty.
If you enter only your password on an account that has a second factor, the page asks for the second factor without asking for your password again.
Bookmark your sign-in page
Add your organization to the address to have it filled in for you:
https://studio.gnok.io/login?org=acme_corp
Replace acme_corp with your organization's sign-in name, and bookmark the link or share it with your members.
Set up a second factor
Administrators must use a second factor. If an administrator has none yet, Gnok asks them to set one up the first time they sign in. Choose one of these:
- A passkey. Your device creates it and unlocks it with your face, fingerprint, device PIN, or a security key.
- An authenticator app. Scan the QR code (or type the setup key) into an authenticator app, enter the six-digit code it shows, and choose Verify and turn on.
A passkey is a second factor, not a replacement for your password: you still enter your password when you sign in.
Recovery codes
When you turn on an authenticator app, Gnok shows a set of recovery codes. Save them somewhere safe, such as a password manager. Gnok shows them only once.
Each recovery code works once. Type it in Authenticator or recovery code in place of an app code if you lose access to your authenticator.
Passkeys
- Sign in with a passkey: enter your organization, email, and password, then choose Use passkey.
- Add a passkey at sign-in: if your account has an authenticator but no passkey yet, enter your organization, email, password, and an authenticator or recovery code, then choose Use passkey. The page lets you set up a passkey right there and finishes signing you in.
- Manage passkeys: in Studio, open your user menu and choose Passkeys to add or remove passkeys.
Keep your password and another way to sign in (your authenticator app or recovery codes) available in case you lose the device that holds your passkey.
Forgot your password
Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page and enter your email address. Gnok emails you a reset link that is valid for 1 hour. Open it, choose a new password that meets the same rules as at signup, and sign in again. Request a new link if it expires.
Resetting a password doesn't change your roles, and it doesn't reactivate an account that an administrator has deactivated.
Join an existing organization
Members don't sign up themselves. An organization administrator adds them in Studio (Security → Users) and sends them an invitation or their sign-in details. Then sign in at studio.gnok.io/login with that organization's sign-in name and your email.
Don't create a new organization to join your team. A new organization is separate and can't see your team's data.
Sign-in problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The verification email never arrived | Check spam or junk, then choose Resend verification email on the confirmation page. |
| The verification or reset link expired | Request a new one. Verification links last 24 hours and reset links last 1 hour. |
| "Your account doesn't have access to Gnok Studio" | Ask an administrator of your organization to grant you Studio access. |
| Sign-in fails with the right password | Check the organization's sign-in name (for example acme_corp, not Acme Corp) and your email. Too many failed attempts can lock the account for a while. |
| You lost your authenticator app | Sign in with a recovery code or your passkey. |
| You lost every second factor | Ask your organization's administrator. Administrators who are locked out can email support@gnok.io from the account's email address. |
Sign-in works but a query fails
Signing in and running queries are separate steps. Check the selected connection, your query history, and the error reference. See troubleshooting. Creating a second account doesn't fix a query or service problem.
